The Elevator Shaft Zippo

This Zippo Lighter is a serious optical illusion. Is the elevator shaft going up, or is it going down? The Elevator Shaft Zippo has been perfectly crafted to confuse your brain with lines and shadows.

Every time I look at this Zippo Lighter, I get thrown for a twist. The design always seems to be completely different. This Zippo lighter changes with the light you're standing under, and also with the angle you look at it.

There's a story behind this Zippo. What's at the bottom of the elevator shaft? Why am I looking down it? How did it get built? These are questions that must be answered by the viewer.

Here's your Zippo Moment of the Day.

An old, frail man was 95 years old in 2009 - But that was ten years ago. He'd be older now, if not for the accident. We used to call him by his first name, 'Roger.' But his name hasn't been spoken around these parts in many moons.

Roger was fond of walking down the pier on hot summer nights, he had been doing this since he was a young man. Roger knew something lived in the lake. He thought he had caught a glimpse of the creature once or twice, but he never had any real evidence. Roger's neighbors all thought he was crazy, even the U.F.O. society denied his claims! But one lonely night, Roger's credibility completely changed.

As Roger walked down the lake shore's pier in the dead night silence, he couldn't help but feel that he was being followed. He kept walking up to the side of the pier, and taking a peak over the edge. Every so often, something would bob it's head out of the water and take a breath.

When Roger reached the end of the pier, he set down his walking cane and plopped himself onto a hard wooden bench. "Good back support" the old man grumbled. He thought he heard something splashing around in the water, and walked up to the edge of the pier. Something was in there, something deadly.

"Am I seeing things?" Roger whispered as he whipped out his elevator shaft Zippo for a little bit of light.

"NO!" Said a giant green creature as it leaped up out of the water and scooped Roger up with it's mouth.

And that's the Elevator Shaft Zippo Lighter Moment.

Strangle Hold

STRANGLE HOLD ZIPPO

Today we will be showcasing the Strangle Hold Zippo. The colorful graphic depicts the natural struggle between stealth and power, strength and quickness.

The Black cat with sharp claws and teeth struggles to free itself from the strangle hold of the snake. The Snake squeezes with all its muscle knowing that one stab or bite could easily be its undoing.

I love the way the green and red of the snake "pops" off the black of the cat. And the Street Chrome adds a rough and tough finish that works perfectly with the graphic. This would be a great Zippo Lighter for all you Mixed Martial Artists out there!

Here is the Zippo Moment of the Day

They both knew the rules and whether or not it was his fault or that of the other guy it did not matter anymore.

The rowdy men had gathered and began drinking and cheering, waiting to see the feud settled. There was no turning back now.

The alley was cold, dark and dirty but full of life...at least for now. A tall built man with strong features hopped on top of a wooden crate, placing himself above everyone else.

The crowd quieted as all eyes fell on the tall man. With his mere presence he commanded the men as he slowly dug into the pockets of his blood-stained jeans.

"Men of the Unforgiving Streets" the man roared. "There is a dispute among two of us that will be settled tonight!"

The crowd shouted and surrounded the two young men sealing off any thought of retreat. With his large calloused thumb he ignited the flame of the dirty Zippo.

"As long as this flame burns you must fight!"

And that is your Strangle Hold Zippo Lighter Moment of the Day

SCREAM BRUSHED ZIPPO

Well...it's definitely unique. His bloodshot eyes are practically popping out of his head, his hair is standing up on end as he grasps his face with both hands - this guy is really scared.

I don't know why Zippo decided to make a Zippo Lighter this ugly but I like it. I can't help but think that he's screaming because he's looking at me! And check out his tongue...it looks like he just downed a Cherry Slurpee. WAIT, maybe he has Brain Freeze!

"The Zippo Moment of the Day"

A loud bang downstairs woke her from her sleep.

"It's just the wind" she tried to convince herself as she sat up in bed, staring into the darkness.

Deep creeks sounded through the house as the young woman began to shake.

"It's just the old bones of the house" she whimpered.

She slowly stretched out her arm and flipped the lamp switch on but, nothing happened.

"The storm must have taken out the power, ya that's it" she thought as she pulled her nightstand open.

Heavy thuds pounded down the hall towards her bed room then stopped. The door opened wide and a vile voice hissed, "What do we have here"

"It's just my Glock Bitch" She shouted as she lit the room with her Zippo.

And that's your Scream Brushed Zippo Lighter Moment.

Wolf Black Ice Zippo

Another day another Zippo! Today we will be showcasing one of my favorite Zippos, the Wolf Black Ice Zippo.

THE WOLF BLACK ICE ZIPPO

Ever since I read the book "Kavik the Wolf Dog", the story of a sled dog mixed with wolf, as a young boy, I fell in love with the creatures. So it's no surprise that this would be a favorite of mine.

Is the wolf a lone wolf or the leader of the pack? We'll never know but, what we can say, is that Zippo did an excellent job with detail. I like how the black ice canvas seems to represent the night with shimmers of moonlight shining across the Zippo Lighter. The wolf's eyes burn a fiery yellow/orange as they stare directly at yours, but don't fret! This wolf doesn't bite only lights.

The Zippo Moment of The Day.

The sound of howling echoed through the mountain tops and across the green valley as the first view of the moon appeared. Stars, one by one sprinkled into the vast sky like grains of salt.

As the two hikers set their backpacks down and rested their tired feet, the wind gently eased all aches and pains. They had a clear view of the river flowing east, heading toward a mysterious lake hidden somewhere in the mountains.

"We need a fire, let's collect wood" she said as she unrolled her backpack.

Several more howls sang through the air like a choir as the two prepared for the night.

The wood was in place with handfuls of tinder beneath.

"I got the light" he said as he took out his black Zippo and flipped the lid.

The evening was peaceful as the two sat close together watching the flames flicker, listening to the beautiful choir sing to them through the night.

Welcome all you Zippo Heads to Zippo Talk. I will be showcasing a different Zippo every week for your (and my) enjoyment. With thousands of lighters to pick from I will start with my favorites and go from there - always ending with a "Zippo Moment."

What can I say...I like shiny things - always have always will. The High Polish Chrome Zippo Lighter is very similar to the classic Zippos of the 1930s and 40s. With no engravings or designs, this lighter is definitely sleek and simple.

It's also a favorite groom's gift for all you brave men out there who are ready to jump into that wild roller coaster called marriage. Any groomsman, smoker or not, can appreciate this gift. Have their initials engraved to make it extra special.

Today's Zippo Moment.

It's a warm summer weekend night. You nod your head "hello" and smile at the strangers you pass in the dimly lit staircase. The music bumps louder as you reach the roof of the building and walk through glass doors, revealing a cool crowd of chattering people. Drinks are being passed, cigarettes and cigars are being lit as you grab your beer and scan the premise.

The rooftop overlooks the city, bright with lights, as you look up and gaze at the moon and think, "Tonight's going to be a good night."

The sweet scent of perfume fills the air as a gentle touch on the should redirects your attention.

"Have a light stranger?" she smiles.

"Do I have a light? Oh yes, I have a light" you think to yourself as your eyes meet, playing a silent game of "truth or dare."

Your Chrome Zippo flickers like a bright star as it catches the moon's light and ignites, setting the burning tone of the entire night.

And that's a Chrome Zippo Lighter Moment.
